On Friday, 11/28/14: All borough residents are invited to join us for the “Annual Holiday Tree Lighting” to be held at Bristol Lord Field located at Castle Avenue and Main Street at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served immediately following the tree lighting ceremony at MacQueen Hall. Santa will also be making an appearance for all borough youth 10 years old and under. In order for Santa to have a gift available, parents/guardians must sign-up their child. Forms will be available in the Municipal Building Office beginning in October 2014. The completed forms must be dropped off to the Municipal Building Office no later than Friday, November 7th 2014.

General Information

Household products containing toxic chemicals like pesticide, oil-based paint, weed killers, auto batteries, anti-freeze, and some home cleaners, can be a threat to the environment if improperly discarded. Never throw away these items in the trash. They could harm the highway workers or result in fires in the collection vehicles. It is also not safe to pour these items down your drain or sewers. These products should be taken to the nearest waste collection station. For a list of area stations, please visit www.co.delaware.pa.us/recycle/.

The Borough has obtained a Recycling Grant which went toward the purchase of new recycling containers. If your container was destroyed, please feel free to stop by the Borough Office for a new recycling container. Please remember that we recycle plastic bottles, glass, aluminum cans and rinsed metal food cans.

Medical Waste Disposal

Human and animal waste (medications used in the treatment of Cancer, Diabetes, etc.) including hypodermic needles must be disposed of in a proper manner. These items are not allowed in the regular trash pick-up.

Please contact either your family physician or veterinarian for specific directions on this disposal. Medical waste will create a hazardous condition with the trash truck load and we may not be able to unload our municipal waste.
